The Old Grovian Rugby Team is a newly formed side of mainly Old Grovians who have played rugby to a good level. The team began life in the Yorkshire 5B league which is a bottom league but nonetheless produces an excellent and very challenging standard of play. 

When we established Old Grovians Rugby in 2007 it was a joy to get old friends back together again playing the gentleman's game that we all love.  We quickly realised that we wanted to share our friendly team environment with players of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. 

 As an official independent rugby club we have not only attracted many Old Grovians directly from school giving them their first taste of senior league rugby but also welcomed numerous other players from other local clubs and within the community.

You will discover excellent training facilities, infrastucture and team support which has also helped attract and develop a number of novice players to gain their first ever playing experience of rugby.

In our first full season (2007/2008) we finished 3rd equal and just missed out on a play off place.  Our second season saw us reach the end of season play offs, only narrowly missing out on promotion.  This has been a fantastic achievement for everyone concerned and one which we all will continue to build on. Congratulations everyone!

Our main drive is for promotion through the leagues and this will come from continued success and development of the club.  Therefore your support is continually welcome, whether from NEW PLAYERS, SPONSORS, Supporters or Old Grovians, everyone's help will always be truly welcome.
